Taiwan's TSMC, a dominant player in the contract chipmaking industry, has announced strong growth projections for the coming years, fueled by the booming demand for computing power and advanced semiconductors amid an artificial intelligence surge.

During TSMC's annual shareholders' meeting in Hsinchu, CEO C.C. Wei emphasized the sustained positive outlook from clients within the thriving AI industry. "The adoption of AI models across consumer, enterprise, and sovereign applications continues to rise, which necessitates greater computing power and, by extension, increased demand for advanced semiconductor chips," Wei noted.

This announcement comes as Taiwan hosts the paramount Computex conference, spotlighting the island's pivotal role in global technology supply chains. Key industry players such as Nvidia and Intel are attending, reinforcing Taiwan's significance. TSMC, a crucial supplier for Nvidia, had already adjusted its revenue forecasts upward in April, alongside increasing capital expenditures to satisfy the surging demand.
