Airlines Reroute Amid Escalating India-Pakistan Tensions
Asian airlines are rerouting flights due to rising tensions between India and Pakistan, impacting routes over Pakistan's airspace. Numerous flights have been cancelled or diverted, especially affecting the Middle East and South Asia. Airlines express concerns over costs, operational disruptions, and safety issues like GPS spoofing amidst these conflicts.

In response to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, several Asian airlines have adjusted their flight plans, choosing to reroute or cancel operations to Europe. The decision comes as India launched attacks on Pakistan, leading to significant airspace disruptions in the region.
Over two dozen international flights have been redirected to bypass Pakistani airspace, leading to 52 flight cancellations, as airline operators face complications from the conflicts. Domestic travel in India and Pakistan also suffered as major airports were shut down, affecting major carriers like Air India and IndiGo.
The altered schedules are further aggravating logistical challenges in the Middle East and South Asia for carriers, already strained by ongoing regional conflicts. Despite these challenges, airlines continue to prioritize safety amidst potential risks such as GPS spoofing, which remains a significant concern for the industry.
