Essar group's GreenLine Mobility Solutions, renowned for its green logistics solutions, has announced a strategic partnership with Shriram Finance to launch a fleet of LNG-powered trucks. This move, unveiled on Wednesday, signifies a major step in India's shift towards sustainable transportation.

The fleet was ceremoniously flagged off at Chakan, Pune, enhancing GreenLine's existing lineup, which includes more than 650 LNG trucks serving diverse sectors like FMCG, metals and mining, cement, oil and gas, and chemicals. As India's first green logistics operator using LNG and electric-powered trucks, GreenLine's collaboration with one of the nation's largest NBFCs, Shriram Finance, underscores the importance of strategic financial backing in promoting eco-friendly alternatives.

Highlighting the environmental impact, GreenLine's CEO, Anand Mimani, emphasized this expansion as crucial in reducing India's carbon footprint from the transport sector. CFO Sharvari Prabhu noted the importance of financial partnerships for scaling their fleet. GreenLine's ambitious plan envisions over 10,000 LNG and EV trucks and a nationwide refueling and charging network, targeting a reduction of 1 million tonnes of carbon emissions annually.
