The Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India (AERA) has revamped the User Development Fee (UDF) structure for travelers using Mumbai airport. The updated fees apply to both domestic and international journeys, ensuring equitable cost distribution among all stakeholders.
Starting May 2025, departing domestic passengers will pay a fixed UDF of Rs 175, a figure that will remain unchanged throughout the regulatory period up to March 2029. This creates a stable and predictable fee structure for domestic travelers.
For international passengers, AERA has introduced a differential UDF. Economy class travelers will now pay Rs 615, while business class passengers will be charged Rs 695. These adjustments align with the 'User Pays' principle, reflecting the enhanced services and facilities at the airport. Furthermore, landing and parking charges have been rationalized for airlines to support efficient operations.
