LG Electronics has started construction on a ₹5,000-crore home appliance factory, its third in India, aiming to strengthen its presence in the fast-growing consumer market. The plant in Andhra Pradesh, covering 1 million square meters, is set to begin production in 2025, creating 1,900 jobs.

LG Electronics broke ground on its ₹5,000-crore home appliance factory in Andhra Pradesh, marking a significant expansion in India. This facility is set to be LG's third plant in the country, aligning with the company's plan to boost its stake in the burgeoning Indian consumer market.
The South Korean tech giant's new plant, sprawling over 1 million square meters, is the largest electronics investment in South India. By the end of 2026, the factory aims to annually produce 800,000 refrigerators, 850,000 washing machines, 1.5 million air conditioners, and 2 million air conditioner compressors.
The inauguration, attended by Andhra Pradesh's Human Resources Development Minister Nara Lokesh, is part of a broader initiative under the state's electronics manufacturing policy. With the new facility operational, LG expects to enhance its output and cater to both domestic and international markets, boosting employment in the region.
