A delegation of top Indian officials will once again visit Washington this month for discussions with US counterparts on a potential bilateral trade agreement (BTA), according to government sources.
Last month, India's chief negotiator Rajesh Agrawal and Assistant US Trade Representative Brendan Lynch held a three-day meeting to accelerate the BTA talks. The teams discussed tariffs and non-tariff issues.
The US had suspended an additional 26% tariff on Indian goods until July 9, a period both countries aim to use for progressing trade discussions. India seeks duty concessions in labor-intensive sectors, while the US desires better terms in sectors like automobiles and agriculture.
