Misreported Story: Pakistan's Call for Energy-Related Loans
A news story falsely reported that Pakistan sought international loans due to energy-related losses. The Ministry of Economic Affairs clarified that their official social media account was compromised, leading to this misinformation.

A recent report wrongly indicated that Pakistan had reached out to international partners for loans owing to 'heavy losses inflicted by energy.' The story, published by a news agency, has been officially retracted.
The Ministry of Economic Affairs of Pakistan clarified that no such request had been made. They further revealed that the source of confusion was a hacked X account, which falsely communicated this claim.
Soon after, the official X account was secured, and a correction was issued to prevent further dissemination of the erroneous information. This incident highlights the challenges of cybersecurity and misinformation in today's media landscape.
