Mumbai Metro Line 3's Final Phase Nears Completion: A New Chapter in Urban Transport
The final phase of Mumbai Metro Line 3 will start in August, connecting Acharya Atre Chowk and Cuffe Parade. Phase 2A between Bandra-Kurla Complex and Acharya Atre Chowk opens soon, reducing road traffic. This 33 km stretch improves connectivity after final construction stages are completed.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that the final phase of the Mumbai Metro Line 3, between Acharya Atre Chowk and Cuffe Parade, will become operational in August. The phase 2A stretch from Bandra-Kurla Complex to Acharya Atre Chowk is set to commence service this Saturday.
With a current operational stretch between JVLR Aarey and BKC, Phase 2A opens to the public the 9.77-km section also known as the Aqua Line, renowned for its engineering feat beneath the Mithi River. The extension will connect six stations and is expected to alleviate road congestion and reduce fuel consumption.
The Metro Line 3 project, which spans 33 km, will ultimately enhance connectivity to Mumbai's business hubs. Alongside its potential to drastically reduce vehicle traffic, it offers convenient access to local religious sites, promising an end-to-end journey within one hour upon full completion.
