Balwan Das, a 26-year-old social media influencer popular under the pseudonym Mr Vishal Sharma, has garnered attention for his video exposing overcharging and mistreatment by staff of the Rajasthan Hotel catering firm on a train journey.

The video, shot during his trip on Hemkunt Express, went viral on X on May 7, leading to the termination of Rajasthan Hotel's contract, a Rs 5 lakh fine, and FIRs against the implicated staff. Das, residing in Kathua, Jammu, captures such fraudulent activities using hidden cameras to hold catering services accountable.

During the incident, Das lost a camera worth Rs 70,000 and has pleaded to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for assistance in retrieving it. Despite being assaulted and threatened by the staff, Das remains undeterred in his mission to expose unfair practices in railway catering.
