In the financial year 2024-25, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad welcomed an unprecedented 1.34 crore passengers, marking a substantial 14.8 per cent increase from the previous year, according to a statement by Ahmedabad International Airport Limited (AIAL). This growth cements Ahmedabad's status as a major transit hub.

With over 11 million domestic passengers and more than 2.2 million international travellers, the airport has positioned itself as a rapidly evolving aviation center, owned by the Adani Group. The addition of new infrastructure such as parking stands and a Multiple Aircraft Ramp System (MARS) has bolstered operational capabilities.

The airport also set a new record on January 25, 2025, with 48,137 passengers and 351 aircraft movements, surpassing the previous high in November 2023. Its growing connectivity involves new routes to destinations in India and abroad, reflecting increased demand and boosting accessibility for surrounding areas, aided by a new bus service to Vadodara.
