In a distressing incident in Maharashtra's Satara district, a state transport bus collided with a roadside tree as it attempted to avoid an oncoming private bus. The mishap unfolded near Janugadewadi village on the Dhebewadi-Patan Road on Thursday morning.

The bus, heading for Dhebewadi from the Patan depot, swerved sharply to evade the private vehicle but ended up crashing into the tree. Fortunately, the accident, which occurred around 8 am, did not result in any life-threatening injuries, officials confirmed.

Emergency services swiftly transported 20 injured passengers to a nearby hospital, where they received necessary treatment. Most of the victims were discharged, having sustained only minor injuries, according to a district official.
