Prime Minister Narendra Modi is poised to launch an ambitious suite of development projects valued at over Rs 19,000 crore during his visit to Odisha. The package, which includes Rs 2,750 crore for railway infrastructure, is projected to significantly advance the region's connectivity and economic prospects.
Among the highlights of the launch are the third and fourth railway lines between Sarla and Sason, designed to reduce traffic congestion on the Jharsuguda–Sambalpur section while promoting industrial development in western Odisha. Additionally, the inauguration of the Sonepur–Purunakatak railway line marks a landmark integration of the Boudh district headquarters into the national network.
The PM's itinerary includes the dedication of the fourth rail line between Jharsuguda and Jamga, complemented by a new freight train maintenance facility at Sarla. Enhanced logistics efficiency and smoother freight transport are anticipated outcomes. New train services and additional infrastructure developments will further bolster the region's connectivity and economic trajectory.
