In response to operational challenges, Air India has declared a temporary reduction in its international flight operations. The decision affects service on 16 routes and halts operations on three destinations from June 21 to July 15. This move comes in the wake of increased safety checks following a tragic crash in Ahmedabad on June 12.
The airline has implemented enhanced pre-flight safety protocols on its Boeing 787 and 777 fleets, which, along with airspace restrictions in the Middle East, have necessitated a 15% cut in wide-body flights. Routes to Europe, North America, and Asia, including Delhi-Toronto and Bengaluru-London, will see a reduced frequency.
While Air India apologizes for the inconvenience, it assures patrons that steps are underway to minimize disruption, including offering alternative travel arrangements and refunds. This proactive approach aims to ensure passenger safety and maintain operational readiness.
