At the National Conference on Skill Development for the Renewable Energy Workforce in New Delhi, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) unveiled the Innovative Projects Start-Up Challenge. This initiative, targeted at enhancing India's rooftop solar and distributed renewable energy sectors, seeks groundbreaking solutions and is coordinated with StartUp India.
Supported by the National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), the challenge calls on Indian startups to innovate in making rooftop solar affordable, enhancing climate resilience, fostering inclusivity, and promoting environmental sustainability. Focus areas include modular systems, grid stability, and eco-friendly technologies.
Startups in sectors like green tech and AI are eligible to compete for a prize pool of Rs 2.3 crore. Beyond financial rewards, winners will access incubation support and mentorship. Interested parties must apply via the Startup India website by August 20, 2025, with results announced on September 10, 2025.
