Adani Logistics Ltd has broken new ground with the launch of India's first double stack rake service, creating a vital rail link between the inland container depot (ICD) Tumb in Vapi, Gujarat, and ICD Patli in Haryana. The initiative underscores a significant stride toward efficient, sustainable logistics, positioning Adani at the forefront of multimodal infrastructure innovation.

Utilizing the double stack rake, which stacks two layers of containers, effectively doubles cargo volume per trip. This advancement boosts operational efficiency, cuts transit time, lowers carbon emissions, and slashes logistics costs between the manufacturing centers of Vapi, Silvassa, and Daman, and the consumption regions of Delhi-NCR, Haryana, and Punjab.

A senior official at Adani highlighted that the service transcends container movement, accelerating India's supply chain edge. The strategic Tumb-Patli route not only alleviates road freight congestion but is also expected to trim emissions by up to 30% per container. Importantly, it will streamline export-import processes through western ports, such as Mundra and Hazira in Gujarat.

This corridor, vital for southern Gujarat and North India's textile, pharmaceutical, electronics, and chemical sectors, promises unmatched speed, reliability, and scalability. With India targeting a reduction in logistics costs from 14% to below 10% of GDP, innovations like the double-stack rail are pivotal.

For Adani Logistics, a leader in multi-modal logistics parks, ICDs, and warehouses, this launch signifies more than just a milestone; it's a declaration of intent. As the demand for freight grows, the Tumb-Patli double stack linkage is set to revolutionize the integration of India's manufacturing and consumption hubs. (ANI)
