IHCL Expands Eastern Horizons with Ambuja Neotia's Hospitality Investment
Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) and Ambuja Neotia Group have agreed to develop 15 new hotels in eastern and northeastern India with an investment of up to Rs 2,000 crore. The projects will include Taj resorts and villas, enhancing the region's luxury travel potential and boosting tourism growth.

In a significant expansion move, Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) and Ambuja Neotia Group have announced the development of 15 new hotels across eastern and northeastern India, with an estimated investment of Rs 2,000 crore. This strategic partnership aims to enhance the region's luxury travel sector.
The ambitious project will see the development of both greenfield and brownfield properties, along with conversion projects, spread across West Bengal, Sikkim, and Himachal Pradesh. Notable inclusions feature Taj resorts in Sunderban, Darjeeling, and Shimla, alongside other branded accommodations.
Under a capital-light arrangement, IHCL's capacity is set to increase from 28 to 43 hotels, adding over 1,000 rooms. This expansion is aligned with India's efforts to unlock the tourism potential of its eastern and northeastern areas, according to IHCL's Managing Director, Puneet Chhatwal.
