India witnessed a day of aviation mishaps on Monday, with three separate incidents causing disruptions and safety concerns. An Air India jet landing in Mumbai from Kochi skidded off the runway amid heavy rain, though passengers and crew disembarked safely. The aircraft is grounded for checks while the airport temporarily closed one runway for assessment.
Meanwhile, an IndiGo flight from Goa to Indore was forced to make an emergency landing due to a technical issue with its landing gear. All 140 passengers aboard were unharmed as the aircraft safely landed and is currently undergoing mandatory inspections.
Adding to the day of aviation woes, an Air India flight set for Kolkata from Delhi aborted takeoff due to a technical snag, rescheduling later the same evening. Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu addressed safety issues in Parliament, emphasizing the goal of zero aviation incidents.
