On Monday, BEML inked an MoU with TuTr Hyperloop, an IIT Madras-incubated startup, to collaboratively develop India's inaugural indigenously designed Hyperloop system. This pioneering transportation technology promises to propel passenger and cargo pods at remarkable speeds through near-vacuum tubes, utilizing Magnetic Levitation and Linear Induction Motor systems.
According to BEML, the collaboration will see them acting as the principal manufacturing partner for TuTr Hyperloop, focusing on creating a high-speed prototype pod. This initiative is expected to result in a transformative mode of transport that is faster, more sustainable, and efficient, aligning with India's vision for high-speed, clean transport solutions.
Shantanu Roy, Chairman and Managing Director of BEML, hailed the partnership as pivotal for India's high-speed transportation goals. The collaboration is aligned with national strategies like Viksit Bharat 2047 and Atmanirbhar Bharat, showcasing India's engineering and technological prowess.
