Air India Ensures Rigorous Safety Protocols Post AI171 Crash

In the wake of the tragic AI171 crash in Ahmedabad, Air India's Managing Director and CEO, Campbell Wilson, reached out to members of the airline's frequent flyer program, Maharaja Club, detailing a slew of safety measures undertaken by the airline. Wilson emphasized that passenger, crew, and aircraft safety is the foundation of their operations.

Post-accident, Air India has conducted thorough inspections of its Boeing 787-8 and 787-9 fleets under the supervision of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, with no issues detected. Similar inspections on the fuel control mechanisms of Boeing 737 and 787-8 aircraft have also been carried out, yielding no findings.

To further ensure safety, Air India has temporarily reduced its flight schedule, allowing for additional pre-flight checks amid regional airspace constraints. Additionally, the airline is using this time to accelerate upgrades aimed at enhancing aircraft reliability and addressing potential delays. Wilson assured members of Air India's rigorous, multi-tiered safety protocols and its comprehensive Safety Management System.
