Tata Steel Unveils Advanced Galvanised Coils in Odisha
Tata Steel has launched its first batch of galvanised coils from a new line at its Kalinganagar Cold Rolling Mill in Odisha. The Continuous Galvanising Line-1 features state-of-the-art technology to produce high-quality coated steel, including Advanced High Strength Steels, for automotive and appliance sectors.

Tata Steel announced on Wednesday the production of its first batch of galvanised coils from a newly established line at the Cold Rolling Mill complex in Kalinganagar, Odisha.
The Continuous Galvanising Line-1, featuring cutting-edge technologies like a third-generation air-knife and oxidation chamber, is designed to manufacture high-quality coated steel. This includes Advanced High Strength Steels, specifically tailored for automotive and appliance sectors, as per the company's statement.
Vice President of Marketing & Sales (Flat Products), Prabhat Kumar, stated that the facility aims to satisfy customers' stringent quality demands, offering superior surface finish, formability, and corrosion resistance. The Rs 27,000 crore investment in the Phase II expansion at Kalinganagar has increased the site's capacity from 3 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) to 8 MTPA, including the important addition of CGL-1 as part of the Cold Rolling Mill.
