Anand Mahindra, Chairman of the Mahindra Group, has called on India to adopt radical reforms in its business environment to capitalize on the opportunities arising from global tariff shifts initiated by U.S. President Donald Trump. In a post on X, Mahindra suggested that India must go beyond incremental changes to significantly enhance the ease of doing business.

Mahindra proposed two key strategies: implementing a genuinely effective single-window clearance system for investments and unlocking tourism's potential as a major source of foreign exchange. He highlighted the need for a coalition of willing states to align with national objectives, making India an attractive destination for global capital.

Furthermore, Mahindra advocated for improvements in tourism infrastructure, accelerated visa processing, and dedicated corridors around tourist hotspots to boost the sector. He also called for broader economic reforms, such as rationalizing import duties and supporting manufacturing and MSMEs, to strengthen India's global competitiveness.
