Noida police have made a significant breakthrough in their fight against narcotics, seizing over 164 kg of ganja smuggled from Odisha destined for the National Capital Region. Two individuals have been apprehended in connection with the illegal operation, a police spokesperson confirmed on Tuesday.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone II), Shakti Mohan Awasthi, explained that law enforcement officers intercepted a truck near the Kheda Chauganpur roundabout during a routine inspection. A search led to the discovery of ganja worth approximately Rs 40 lakh concealed within six plastic bags among granite stones.
Further investigation uncovered that the contraband was sourced from Odisha by a man identified as Arvind Kishore, also known as Tony. Currently evading arrest, Kishore is believed to be the mastermind behind the distribution network within the NCR. The hunt for him continues as police aim to dismantle the smuggling ring.
