India's Pioneering Centre for Private Equity Research
The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) has launched the Tony James Centre for Private Equity and Venture Capital, dedicated to enhancing research, innovation, and collaboration in the PEVC field. Funded by a significant alumni contribution from Mathew Cyriac, the centre aims to be a hub for world-class research and policy engagement.

The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) has inaugurated the country's first Centre of Excellence focusing on private equity and venture capital. The Tony James Centre is aimed at boosting research innovation and collaboration in the field of PEVC.
Named after Hamilton Evans 'Tony' James, a former key figure at Blackstone, the centre is a result of one of the largest individual alumni donations in IIMB's history. Mathew Cyriac, an alumnus of 1994, contributed significantly to formalize the centre, aligning with IIMB's goals of nurturing a globally competitive research ecosystem.
The centre aspires to be a cornerstone for world-class research, education, and policy dialogue, engaging with a wide range of stakeholders such as students, professionals, and industry leaders. It aims to provide insights and guide policy development for sustainable economic growth through private capital.
