In Bhiwandi, an iron rod fell from a metro rail construction site onto a moving autorickshaw, resulting in severe injury to a passenger. The incident happened during the first phase of the Thane-Bhiwandi Metro Line's construction.
Sonuali Shaikh, the injured passenger, was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors worked for five hours to safely remove the rod from her head, an official reported.
Police have initiated an investigation and registered a criminal case against unknown individuals under section 125 of the BNS, citing endangerment to life.
