Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked a significant milestone on Sunday by inaugurating the Delhi segment of the Dwarka Expressway alongside the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II). These ambitious projects, with an investment close to Rs 11,000 crore, are intended to mitigate the pervasive traffic congestion choking Delhi and its adjacent regions.
As part of the government's comprehensive strategy to relieve the capital's traffic woes, these initiatives are poised to drastically cut travel time, improve connectivity, and facilitate seamless transit to and from Delhi's key areas, including the Indira Gandhi International Airport from Sonipat, Rohtak, Bahadurgarh, and Gurugram.
In his comments after the inauguration, Modi emphasized the benefits of the Dwarka Expressway and UER-II for the residents of Delhi-NCR, stressing the administration's relentless efforts to simplify life for the capital's denizens. The projects also involve innovative multi-modal transport solutions linking Delhi Metro lines and pivotal junctions, ensuring faster and more efficient movement across the region.
