On Tuesday, Akasa Air announced the completion of its strategic investment deals, initially revealed on February 6, 2025. The airline has welcomed new partners following the necessary regulatory approvals, significantly bolstering its financial base, according to a company press release.
The investors include Premji Invest, globally recognized for backing Azim Premji Foundation's work, 360 ONE Asset's managed funds, and Dr. Ranjan Pai's Claypond Capital. The Jhunjhunwala family, existing investors, also contributed additional capital. These funds are earmarked to steer Akasa Air towards its strategic milestone of becoming one of the world's top 30 airlines by decade-end, playing a pivotal role in establishing India as a global aviation hub.
The investments aim to expand Akasa Air's operational scope, enhance customer experiences, and invest in safety, reliability, and cutting-edge technology. CEO Vinay Dube expressed his gratitude towards new investors, reinforcing the airline's vision of sustainable growth while keeping customer satisfaction a priority. In its three-year journey since its inaugural flight, Akasa Air has transported over 20 million passengers, achieving strong operational and financial metrics.
Premji Invest's Manoj Jaiswal, 360 ONE Asset's Umesh Agrawal, and Claypond Capital's Shyam Powar lauded the strategic investment, pointing to Akasa's potential to capitalize on the burgeoning Indian aviation market.
