Maharashtra Boosts Gems and Jewellery Sector with New Initiatives

During a recent event at the Jio World Convention Centre, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that the state will introduce certificate courses at the Maharashtra State Skills University. These courses aim to cultivate skilled professionals within the gems and jewellery sector.

Furthermore, Fadnavis revealed that a cutting-edge Gems and Jewellery Park is under development in Mahape, Navi Mumbai. This facility aims to boost exports by offering top-tier amenities to professionals and exporters, reflecting the government's commitment to enhance job opportunities within the sector in collaboration with the Gems and Jewellery Association.

Fadnavis underscored the historical significance of the Indian jewellery industry, emphasizing India's robust global presence. The state is set to ease business operations through reforms in licensing and land acquisition processes, alongside the establishment of a special 'Ease of Doing Business War Room' to monitor reform implementation.
