India is making significant strides in the electric mobility sector, exemplifying a model for emerging economies aiming to embrace electrification, according to IEC Secretary General and CEO Philip Metzger. In a recent interview with ANI, Metzger highlighted India's rapid transition to electric vehicles during his visit to Delhi.
The importance of electric mobility in addressing climate change and urban pollution was underscored at the International Electrotechnical Commission's annual general meeting in New Delhi. Hosted by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), the gathering saw global delegates discuss the development of international standards for clean energy, focusing on battery technologies and transport electrification.
Metzger noted the collaborative efforts of over 80 countries at the conference, aiming to enhance technical and regulatory frameworks. With India's expanding EV footprint, these standards ensure both safety and efficiency. The IEC underscores its commitment to combating climate change and promoting sustainability through electrification and clean energy solutions.
