On Thursday, an Air India Express flight from Visakhapatnam to Hyderabad was forced to make an emergency landing after an engine issue emerged due to a suspected bird strike, officials confirm.

Visakhapatnam Airport director, N Purushottam, reported that the pilot of flight IX 2658 requested emergency landing after encountering engine problems soon after departure.

The aircraft, which had taken off at 2:38 PM, returned safely at 3 PM, having traveled only around 10 nautical miles. Passengers were deboarded safely, and the airline is organizing alternative travel arrangements.
