In a gesture to accommodate the Durga Puja festivities, the Assam government has announced an advancement in the disbursement of September's salaries for its employees.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, in a statement on Monday, revealed that the new disbursement process will commence from Tuesday, rather than the initially planned October 1 date.

'In anticipation of the upcoming Durga Puja, we have decided to expedite the salary release for September 2025,' Sarma stated in a social media post, adding that the Treasury will begin processing salary bills immediately.
