Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday unveiled the foundation stone for the multi-level Hari Nagar bus depot in West Delhi. The initiative is hailed as a transformative step for the capital's transport system.
The depot is designed with state-of-the-art technology, allowing it to sustain financially without additional burden on governmental resources. It will feature parking and charging amenities for more than 400 electric buses, aiming to integrate seamlessly with Delhi's existing green transit initiatives.
Gupta highlighted ongoing efforts to increase the number of electric buses in Delhi from the current 3,000 to 6,000 by next year. Laid during the 'Seva Pakhwada', the depot's foundation coincided with celebrations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday.
