The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has unveiled an AI-powered system aimed at enhancing safety at Namo Bharat stations. This innovative system promises to detect elevator entrapments within seconds, significantly reducing the time taken to initiate an emergency response and evacuate trapped passengers.
Developed internally by NCRTC, the solution leverages AI-enabled camera analytics to monitor lift areas in real-time. It swiftly sends alerts to the Operations Control Centre (OCC) and station staff, ensuring rapid action. The system escalates alerts if not resolved, prioritizing passenger safety.
Remarkably, the technology is offline, utilizing existing CCTV infrastructure for secure and reliable performance without the need for internet or Cloud services. This innovation epitomizes NCRTC's commitment to using advanced technology for public safety, signaling potential applications in other infrastructure settings.
