Rajasthan Government Announces DA and DR Hike for Employees and Pensioners
The Rajasthan government has sanctioned a 2% hike in dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) for its employees and pensioners, benefiting over 12 lakh people. Effective January 2026, the increase raises DA and DR from 58% to 60%, imposing an annual financial burden of approximately Rs 1,156 crore.

The Rajasthan government has authorized a 2% increment in dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) for employees and pensioners, impacting more than 12 lakh individuals, officials announced on Thursday. This decision follows instructions from Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma.
With this adjustment, the DA and DR rates, in accordance with the Seventh Pay Commission, will rise from 58% to 60%, starting January 1, 2026. The uplift will benefit approximately 7.02 lakh state employees and 5.44 lakh pensioners.
The enhancement will be dispensed in cash with May 2026 salaries, due in June. Arrears from January 1 to April 30, 2026, will be added to employees' General Provident Fund (GPF), while pensioners will receive cash. This decision will exert an extra annual financial load of about Rs 1,156 crore on the state's finances.
