Vietjet Air, a leading budget airline in Vietnam, is poised to take delivery of its inaugural A330neo aircraft, part of an ambitious plan to penetrate European markets. The fleet expansion comes after an order of 20 A330neo planes was made during French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Vietnam last year.

Board member Philipp Rosler announced the airline's intent to launch direct flights to European countries, including the Czech Republic, Germany, Britain, and France. Rosler highlighted that the launch, contingent on receiving wide-body aircraft for long-haul routes, depends on Airbus's delivery schedule.

Additionally, Vietjet aims to transform Ho Chi Minh City into a prominent Asia-Pacific aviation finance hub, bringing essential financial services closer to rapidly growing aviation markets in the region. Despite fuel shortage concerns that required schedule adjustments, Rosler confirmed that Vietjet's operations continue as usual.
