Noida International Airport has announced a significant leadership change, naming Nitu Samra as interim Chief Executive Officer. This decision follows a directive from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security mandating that airport CEOs in India must be Indian nationals.
Christoph Schnellmann, who held the CEO position since August 2020, is moving to the Board of Directors as the Executive Vice Chairman. The announcement marks a transition period as the Board conducts a formal selection for a permanent CEO.
Samra's new role comes after her tenure as Chief Financial Officer since October 2021, during which time the airport was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The focus now shifts to finding a suitable permanent leader for the airport.
