In a significant move towards modernizing Haryana's public transport, Transport Minister Anil Vij unveiled plans for procuring 1,000 new buses, half of which will be electric. This development aims to enhance safety, environmental sustainability, and passenger convenience.
Vij detailed a comprehensive upgrade including advanced tracking systems for real-time monitoring, and digital display boards at bus stands to give passengers up-to-date information on arrivals and departures.
A mobile application is being developed to allow commuters to track buses, check schedules and plan routes more efficiently. The integration of technology promises greater transparency and accountability in the transport services, Vij emphasized.
