The Delhi government's Public Works Department (PWD) has sanctioned the transfer of 24 acres in Majlis Park to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for the establishment of a new metro rail depot, as part of Phase-IV of the Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) project.

The land, valued at approximately Rs 239 crore according to provisional rates from the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), is situated near the existing Mukundpur depot. Comprising 14.31 acres in Pocket H2(B) and 9.69 acres in Pocket H2(C), the land has been valued at Rs 14,233.16 lakh and Rs 9,637.96 lakh, respectively.

Before the transfer is formalized, DMRC is required to provide an undertaking and deposit the amount with the PWD. The clearance states that the indicated rates are provisional and liable for revision if updated by the DDA or Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
