In a tragic accident on Friday, six people lost their lives and nine sustained injuries when a lorry purportedly collided with a tractor near the Tungabhadra Bridge in Koppal district. The collision caused the tractor, carrying 15 passengers, to veer off the bridge, according to police reports.
The unfortunate incident falls under the jurisdiction of the Munirabad police station. Preliminary findings indicate that the tractor, en route to the Hulige temple, was hit with such force that it plunged off the bridge, resulting in immediate fatalities for six passengers. The injured have been transported to a nearby hospital for medical care.
Koppal Superintendent of Police Ram L Arasiddi stated that further investigation is ongoing to determine the precise circumstances that led to the deadly crash. Authorities are working to piece together the events that culminated in this shocking tragedy.
