The Erawan Medical Centre confirmed the casualties as emergency responders worked tirelessly at the crash site. Eyewitness footage circulated on social media showing the train impacting an orange bus and dragging it along the tracks.
Questions have arisen about the functionality of the railway crossing barriers during the accident. Deputy Transport Minister Siripong Angkasakulkiat stated that investigations are underway to clarify the circumstances surrounding the crash.
