Nuh police, in collaboration with the local administration, have launched an intensive campaign aimed at curbing illegal encroachments on the Delhi-Mumbai-Vadodara Expressway. The crackdown, which started on Thursday in the Nuh Sadar area, has led to the demolition of over two dozen illegal structures, including eateries and shops.
The initiative is a response to the increasing number of road accidents attributed to illegal roadside parking, considered a significant hazard. Recent accidents, including a tragic incident involving five fatalities on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway, have underscored the need for stringent measures, officials said.
Despite local protests, authorities, backed by a heavy police presence, have expanded the campaign to additional areas including Rojka Meo and Pinangwan. Vehicle operators found with concealed license plates have been fined, reinforcing the administration's stricter enforcement of traffic safety regulations.
