A fire broke out on the Rajdhani Express traveling from Thiruvananthapuram to New Delhi, causing substantial disruptions to rail services in Madhya Pradesh's Ratlam district. The blaze, which erupted early on a Sunday morning, affected two coaches but resulted in no casualties.
Efforts to manage the crisis extended rail traffic suspensions on the Mumbai-Delhi corridor for several hours. Restoration operations included evacuating passengers, extinguishing the blaze, and resuming the train's journey after a seven-hour delay.
Subsequently, a support van carrying electrical repair equipment overturned, injuring five railway workers. An investigation is ongoing to determine the fire's cause, while passengers express dissatisfaction over compensation and response times.
