In a bid to bolster economic ties, Union Minister Piyush Goyal has highlighted the accelerating partnership between India and Canada during his visit accompanied by the largest Indian business delegation. The mission aims to triple trade levels to $50 billion by 2030, a goal deemed achievable due to collaborative efforts and trust between the nations' leaders.
At a joint press conference with Canada's Minister of International Trade, Maninder Sidhu, Goyal emphasized the rapid strengthening of the bilateral relationship. He praised the milestones following Prime Minister Mark Carney's recent trip to India, which laid a foundation for revitalizing the partnership and established new priorities and ambitions.
Goyal also noted the significance of India and Canada's shared democratic values and their contributions to global economic and security objectives. His visit marks the start of a three-day official journey in Ottawa, coinciding with negotiations for the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), pivotal to deepening economic links between the two nations.
