The Khadi and Village Industries sector has reached an impressive milestone with sales hitting a historic Rs 1,87,105 crore in the 2025-26 fiscal year, according to an announcement by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC).
Compared to the previous year's Rs 1,70,551.37 crore, these figures have multiplied tremendously from Rs 31,154 crore in 2013-14, indicating a robust growth trajectory. KVIC Chairman Manoj Kumar expressed optimism that the momentum will continue, predicting sales to surpass Rs 2.51 lakh crore by 2026-27.
In addition to financial triumphs, the production of Khadi and Village Industry products has surged nearly five-fold from Rs 26,109 crore in 2013-14 to reach Rs 1,25,296 crore in 2025-26. Employment within the sector has also expanded considerably, growing by 56% to provide 2.04 crore jobs, underlining KVIC's crucial role in fostering rural livelihoods.
