Eid al-Adha Celebrated Across Tamil Nadu with Prayers and Unity

Muslims in Tamil Nadu marked the festival of Eid al-Adha with fervent prayers on Thursday. Communities came together at mosques and open spaces across cities like Chennai, Madurai, and Coimbatore, participating in special morning prayers to honor the 'festival of sacrifice'.

In Chennai, a significant congregation gathered at Island ground, while in Madurai, worshippers filled the Tamukkam ground. Various other cities, including Coimbatore and Villupuram, hosted similar mass prayers in open areas.

Political leaders including Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar and Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay sent out their greetings. Arlekar emphasized peace and prosperity, while Vijay highlighted the festival's message of sacrifice and compassion. Both leaders encouraged modest celebrations with a focus on caring for the less fortunate.
