India and South Africa Forge Future-Ready Technological Alliances
India and South Africa are set to enhance cooperation in artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, and advanced manufacturing. The bilateral talks held by Indian Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh and South African Deputy Minister Dr. Nomalungelo Gina focused on innovation-driven partnerships and collaborative solutions for global challenges.
In a significant move to fortify technological exchanges, India and South Africa have committed to expanding their collaboration across several high-tech sectors. During recent bilateral talks, emphasis was placed on advanced manufacturing, digital infrastructure, and artificial intelligence as pivot points for future cooperation, the Indian Ministry of Science & Technology announced.
Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh highlighted the potential of both nations to forge innovation-driven partnerships, leveraging their strengths to develop scalable solutions for the developing world. Strategic dialogues focused on emerging technologies, joint research, and startup ecosystems, as both countries seek alignment in platforms like BRICS and G20, according to the Ministry's release.
Key priorities from the discussions included boosting collaboration in advanced materials, geospatial technologies, and health sciences. South Africa showed keen interest in India's renewable energy and digital public infrastructure initiatives, further inviting Indian involvement in the 2026 Science Forum South Africa. Minister Singh reciprocated with an invitation to the BRICS Ministerial Meeting in Chennai.
