On Wednesday, DK Shivakumar officially assumed his duties as the Chief Minister of Karnataka, mere hours after taking the oath of office at a significant ceremony held at Lok Bhavan. Alongside him, 13 MLAs swore in as ministers, with senior Congress figure G Parameshwara appointed as Deputy Chief Minister.
The ceremonial oath-taking event attracted the presence of eminent Congress leaders, religious authorities, and notable figures from across the nation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended his congratulations and best wishes to Shivakumar via a post on X, expressing the Centre's intent to collaborate with Karnataka's government for public welfare.
Additionally, prominent Congress leader Rahul Gandhi lauded Shivakumar's ascendancy, while recognizing former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's significant contributions. Gandhi emphasized the trust placed by Karnataka's citizens in the Congress party, vowing to fulfill the party's promises of governance and social justice.
