Major retailers, including Marks & Spencer and the Co-op Group, have reported significant breaches in recent weeks. Despite remaining tight-lipped about specifics, the impact, particularly on services like M&S's online clothing orders, is evident.
Speaking at the CyberUK 2025 conference, McFadden emphasized the urgency for enhanced cybersecurity measures. With nearly 2,000 attacks reported last year, the government is set to unveil a new strategy and legislative reforms aimed at strengthening cyber defenses across the board.
