The Delhi government is taking a major step in bridging the digital divide by planning to install computer labs in 100 government schools at no cost. The initiative, a pro-bono effort between the Directorate of Education and the Ladli Foundation Trust, follows an MoU signed on March 28.
The Ladli Foundation Trust will equip each lab with 20 computers, ensuring regular maintenance, and will conduct free skill-building sessions. Additionally, the NGO will provide university entrance test mock exams for up to 100,000 students. The program is in harmony with national policies such as Skill India and Digital India.
The project envisions putting in place crucial infrastructure while empowering students with technological skills essential in today's job market. Schools are urged to facilitate implementation by utilizing existing resources, with heads tasked to provide bi-weekly progress reports to ensure effective oversight and success.
