Kia India has announced a strategic partnership with the Indian Institute of Technology, Tirupati, focused on fostering research and development in the fields of automotive and industrial engineering. The automaker has pledged Rs 35 crore over the next five years, aimed at bolstering academic infrastructure and supporting joint research endeavors at the institute.
The initiative is designed to transform IIT-Tirupati into a pivotal hub for advanced manufacturing and electric mobility, aligning with sustainable automotive technologies. According to Kia India MD and CEO Gwanggu Lee, the alliance goes beyond a mere memorandum of understanding, reflecting a shared commitment to revolutionizing mobility and engineering in India.
IIT-Tirupati Director KN Satyanarayana highlighted the potential benefits for students, who will gain valuable exposure to global industry practices and advanced learning opportunities, positioning them for leadership roles in sustainable mobility and industrial manufacturing.
