The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the board exam results for classes 10 and 12, continuing its policy of not declaring merit lists or awarding divisions. This approach aims to prevent unhealthy competition among students, emphasizing the importance of learning over rankings.

This year, the Class 10 pass rate exceeded 93%, while the Class 12 pass rate was 88.39%. In a consistent pattern, girls have outperformed boys in both exams. Instead of traditional rankings, the board will issue merit certificates to the top 0.1% of students, accessible via DigiLocker.

The decision to discontinue merit lists, which began during the pandemic in 2020 and 2021, has been made permanent. Despite this, several schools have independently announced their top scorers. For instance, Shloka Upadhyaya and Savi Jain achieved impressive scores of 499 out of 500 in the Class 12 exam.
